Maker Faire Bay Area takes place this weekend at Mare Island in Vallejo. It’s our 20th anniversary, with 2006 the year of the first Maker Faire. On Friday, we have Field Trips Friend, a day for schools to bring their students and experience Maker Faire on the waterfront.
There’s a lot to see and experience in this historic naval shipyard on Mare Island and we are thrilled to be able create our event with this backdrop.
Here are some photos from previous years on Field Trip Friday.
Even if you don’t bring your class this year, please come on the weekend. MakerEd grew out of the realization that a lot of teachers were coming to Maker Faire, looking for project ideas and creative activities that they could in class. Just as importantly, however, MakerEd began to connect these teachers to each other so that they could learn from each other and share their work.
You can buy tickets and preview the schedule, sign up for workshops and meet the makers on the Maker Faire Bay Area website. I hope to see you there.
